On Wednesday, June 6, College Mentors for Kids’ young professionals group, EtC, hosted its 4th Annual Summer Bash at TwoDEEP Brewing Co. Drawing about 90 attendees, the event featured locally brewed craft beer, a sell-out gift-card pull, and a sudden-death cornhole tournament.
Attendees learned about College Mentors’ mission from Lindsay Grzymski, president of College Mentors’ chapter at Purdue University. In Lindsay’s words, “College Mentors for Kids is changing lives for all that are involved in the program.” Lindsay told attendees about her special relationship with her little buddy, and about the College Mentors activities that have helped her brainstorm potential careers and create a vision for her future.
Special thanks go to the 4th Annual Summer Bash’s sponsors—Thrivent and NextGear Capital. With support from these sponsors, the event raised critical funds for College Mentors’ on-campus mentoring activities.
The event was hosted by College Mentors’ young professionals group: EtC. In addition to promoting College Mentors through the Summer Bash and similar events, EtC members spread the word about College Mentors’ work, collaborate on fundraising initiatives, and participate in local chapter activities.
EtC membership applications are currently being accepted for the 2018-19 program year! If you live in the Indianapolis area and are interested in joining EtC, check out http://www.collegementors.org/young-professional-group/.
