College Mentors for Kids to Celebrate the Tenth Annual Inspire Awards, presented by Verizon, on February 21st, 2019

INDIANAPOLIS- The 2019 Inspire Awards, presented by Verizon, marks the 10th anniversary of College Mentors for Kids’ signature event. This year’s luncheon will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Indiana Rooftop Ballroom on Thursday, February 21st. The awards celebrate mentors in the workplace and the community; the people who sit down over coffee and give advice, listen to new ideas, and challenge their mentees to grow.

Nominations for Mentor of the Year are being accepted in seven categories:

  • Accounting, Legal & Finance
  • Business, Retail & Hospitality
  • Construction, Engineering & Technology
  • Education, Government & Nonprofit
  • Health & Science
  • Communications, Entertainment & Athletics
  • Youth Mentoring

In honor of the 10th anniversary, College Mentors will be introducing the Inspiring Alumni Award to recognize alumni of the College Mentors for Kids program who have continued to exemplify the ideals and values of the organization after graduation.

Nominations are currently open and will be accepted through January 27th, 2019 at midnight. Five finalists will be chosen in each category and recognized at the luncheon. The Mentor of the Year from each category will be announced at that time. This event is attended by over 500 community members from the greater Indianapolis area, as well as college students and little buddies from the College Mentors program. The Inspire Awards are an annual event designed to celebrate mentoring in the workplace and community. Nominations from around the country are accepted and selection committees made up of leaders in their industry choose the Mentors of the Year from each category, who are honored at the luncheon along with an Inspiring Alumni. In 2018, the event was attended by approximately 500 community members. All proceeds benefit College Mentors for Kids.
