What are we looking for within an elementary school partner at College Mentors for Kids, Inc.?

College Mentors for Kids is committed to exposing first-through fourth- graders who have not been exposed to higher education in their home lives to benefits of higher education and the educational and career opportunities available to them through first-hand experience on a college campus. College Mentors for Kids offers its program at no cost to the elementary school or participating families.

While serving elementary schools who demonstrate high needs is of most significance and importance to College Mentors for Kids, other determining factors include:

• Proximity to a university
• Availability of school corporation transportation

Commitment and consistent support from the elementary school principal and faculty are imperative to the program's success. At College Mentors for Kids, everyone plays a role in the success of the chapter. It is vital that partnering elementary schools are active participants in the partnership so that together, we can inspire, educate and connect children in their schools to the opportunities they need and deserve.
